Ways to Give
There are many ways to give to Lafayette Industries – and all are TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
A popular way to donate to Lafayette and gain recognition for your family or corporation is through an event sponsorship. We offer individual or corporate sponsorships for various events. For registration information for our current sponsorship opportunity click here.
If someone with affiliations to Lafayette has passed away, making a donation to Lafayette on their behalf is a thoughtful way to honor them. Lafayette will send a Memorial Card informing the family of the donation you have made in their loved one’s memory. Simply include with your donation the name of the deceased, the name and address of their family member(s) you would like the Memorial Card sent to and whether or not you would like the amount of the donation disclosed on the Memorial Card.
If you would like to pay tribute to someone currently working at Lafayette or someone with other affiliations to Lafayette, you can make a donation on their behalf. Lafayette will send a Tribute Card informing the individual of the donation you have made as a tribute to them. Simply include with your donation the name and address of the individual that you are paying tribute to and whether or not you would like the amount of the donation disclosed on the Tribute Card.
Corporate matching, sometimes called “Gift Matching”, is when companies will match any contributions that their employees make to non-profit organizations such as Lafayette. If you aren’t sure if your company offers matching, please be proactive and inquire about it to your Human Resources Department! It’s an excellent way to stretch your donations by 100% to up to 300% in some cases, with little effort on your part.
Combined Federal Campaign
If you are a federal employee, postal worker or a member of the U.S. military, please give to Lafayette Industries through your Combined Federal Campaign. Our CFC number is 66513.
Remember Lafayette in your estate planning! Bequests to non-profits are exempt from federal income tax. It’s a wonderful way to leave a legacy in honor of a special individual that has affiliations with Lafayette.
Donating Stocks or Bonds
Donating stocks or bonds eliminates capital gains taxes and the transaction is simple.
Inform your broker that you would like to make a charitable gift. They send you (by fax or mail) a simple form to fill out. You will need the following information for this form:
- Name of Stock and # of Shares to be donated
- Account Title of Charity – Lafayette Work Center
- Charity’s Tax ID# - 510173016
- Contact Person for Lafayette’s account
Phil Bruno, Wells Fargo Advisors DTC #0141
- Account #4009-2375
After completing the form and signing it, send it back to your broker and the transaction takes place. Once Lafayette receives the funds from the sale of the stock, you will receive a receipt for your taxes. The entire process takes less than a week.
Schnucks Escrip Program
If you are a Schnucks shopper, Schnucks will donate 1.25% of all of your purchases to Lafayette. This may not seem like a lot, but it definitely adds up! You simply have to show the cashier your Escrip card at checkout. To get an Escrip card, ask Becky Stillwell at Lafayette’s front desk TODAY!
These are donations in the form of merchandise. Lafayette will often make requests for specific merchandise for a particular fundraising event. However, we do accept in-kind donations throughout the year. We will provide a receipt with a description of the item(s) donated, but it is up to you to add a dollar amount on the item(s) for your tax records. Please keep in mind that we do not accept used items or clothing. If you have something in mind to donate but are not sure that it would be of value to Lafayette, contact Mary Beckerle at 636-227-5666 ext.1127 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ways to donate are actually limitless. You can donate a life insurance policy that is no longer needed for it’s original purpose, make Lafayette the beneficiary of an insurance policy, set up automatic paycheck contributions or set up an annuity. If you have something in mind but aren’t sure how it should be transacted, contact Mary Beckerle at 636-227-5666 ext.1127 or email@example.com.
